What is MyoFit?

MyoFit is derived from Performance-Based Interval Training (P-BIT) which is a system that greatly improves the efficiency of a workout session. More work can be completed in less time than traditional training plans. MyoFit also improves fitness faster than general High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) programs and traditional training plans. MyoFit is both time-efficient and highly effective.

The difference between Efficient and Effective:

Efficient means a workout may be completed with little or no rest. This typically involves bodyweight exercises or movements with some additional weight. Countless training plans are available that combine circuit training and interval training concepts to create efficient workouts. However, these plans usually result in a plateau after 4-8 weeks. This is because many common movements are impossible to improve upon over longer periods. For instance, progressing from 8 burpees in 30 seconds to 10 in 30 seconds is great. But, it becomes much harder to increase the speed of the movement, without becoming sloppy, to reach 15 burpees. The only real option is to see how many you can do in more time (45, 60 seconds, etc.). This work with short rest is still time-efficient but without increasing the resistance the exercise becomes less and less effective because each burpee now requires less effort to complete. [Each repetition still requires the same amount of energy, more on that later]

Effective means a workout tells the body to adapt some component of the system. In strength training, this is accomplished by continually stressing specific muscles using moderate to heavy resistance. Typically, a set of 10 repetitions using 75% of your maximum resistance requires 1-3 minutes of rest. The 75% and above range is scientifically known as an effective level of stress for muscle growth. If you can do 15 burpees in a row you are quickly moving past an effective workout. If you can complete 10 repetitions of the bench press then adding more weight maintains the effectiveness of the exercise. Effective progression may continue for many months or even years.  However, this style of workout programming is not efficient due to the large rest periods.

MyoFit uses a design that creates both effective and efficient workouts. MyoFit combines new scientific insights surrounding proper interval training to build sessions that constantly take individual adaptation into account. MyoFit allows constant improvement at a pace that is set by each person’s body and not by a generic workout plan created for mass consumption.
